Blog 19: Week of 03/20/22

I think this week can be summed up with three topics; 9/11, March Madness, and homework. Pretty random bunching of topics, but I can explain. It’s not actually all that hard to explain, so this one won’t be too long. Monday was a work-from-home day because I did not feel too well. That night we had class and it was pretty basic. Tuesday I spent most of the day doing homework, but I also watched two movies. Both were required for class; Waiting for Guffman and Delicatessen. Waiting for Guffman was way better than the other, its a comedy about a small town putting on a play. Wednesday I worked during the day, but did not have a lot to do at work, so I read assignments for class and decided a thesis statement for my final paper. That night as a class we went to Broadway for Come From Away, which is a play about a small island in Canada that has a large airport due to being a refill spot for crossing the atlantic. On 9/11 all flights were canceled and all current flights had to land immediately. For 9,000 people this island was the closest, which doubled the towns population. So yeah, it’s a musical about that and it was really good. Thursday was the start of march madness and Andy and I sat down and watched basketball for 7 hours, followed by a quick break, then another 3 hours of basketball. Friday was similar, but I had work. That night I finally finished reading all the readings. Saturday we woke up and went to the 9/11 memorial. Afterwards we went to a bbq place and watched Baylor lose in the tournament. That night I wrote an essay about cultural trauma. Then we’re at today. My cousin Mark came in to NY so I went and ate with him and Anna at a vegan chinese place that was interesting. Anna then took us on a tour of her apartment. I then came home and wrote a second essay about 9/11 completing my 9/11 trifecta. Now I’m watching basketball with Andy waiting for the Walking Dead to start.

I’m pretty tired. I just want to graduate so I don’t have to keep reading random stuff and writing essays on my weekends. Like I have no free time to write scripts, and that’s all I want to be doing. Okay, I’m going to eat dinner. Bye Bye
