Blog 8: Week of 01/02/22
This should be a pretty short and easy one since last week’s was written on Wednesday. It was also the end of 2021, which in all honesty was likely the least exciting year of my life. Not a ton of good came from last year, but I do feel that I grew a ton. I made some mistakes that will stay with me and push me to be better. Not nearly as good as 2020 or 2019, both of which were excellent years for me. I expect 2022 to be a pretty good year, it’s already started out pretty good, so I hope you enjoy the ride through my blogs.
Earlier this week I got my second vaccine dose. The guy who gave it to me told me that the last time I did not drink enough fluids so I should drink tons of water and Gatorade. The last time I got the vaccine I was wiped for three days so I drank tons of liquids this go around. It worked for the most part, but what I did not expect was to go back to a home that had no running water. Donovan had turned the water off when he had left the house and moved out (rightfully so) and Gavin had not yet turned it back on. This meant that I could not take a shower or flush the toilet. With the extreme amounts of fluids I was intaking I had to pee so bad, but I could not go in the toilet because I didn’t know how long until the water would come back. I ended up going and asking the neighbors to fill up my water pitcher to fill up my toilet tank, but then I feared that I would have to poop. See, I can pee outside, but I cannot poop outside. I mean technically I can, I have before, but that’s not the preference when I share a backyard with my neighbors. So I started peeing outside like four times and hour all while trying to hold off any thought of poop because I only had one chance to poop. I did not want to go back to the neighbors for more water. Long story short, I made it. I succeeded in my bathroom escapades. Finally the water came back on and I was able to live normally again.
I went and had some real good steaks with my brother and father and then hung out with Garrett while we waited for Bryce to get into town. We all hung out and went to Old Chicago like the good ole days. While we were there it was revealed that Mia, our waitress, obviously thought Bryce was cute. She commented that she missed him, laughed at all his “jokes,” and then wrote a note on his receipt. Sadly, Bryce is getting married, so that will go nowhere. Unless… but no. That night we went home and read my Pilot and the first 30 of Bryce’s feature. It was a real fun night. The next couple of days were spent lazily packing all my things from Waco trying to get ready to move out while watching football and Invicible.
I spent the new years alone in my apartment, which I believe to be the most fitting way to end a year spent mostly alone in my apartment. The next day My father and brother helped me lug all my items out of the house and into storage. While we did that we watched the Baylor basketball team beat no. 8 Iowa, and then after we finished we watched the Sugar Bowl were Baylor beat no. 8 Ole Miss. I think it was a really good start to 2022, so I am holding out hope for a great year. We will see.
Today is Sunday which usually means NFL, but today Carson and I are driving down to Houston to see my sister and her family. The Browns don’t play till tomorrow anyway, so I’m not missing anything crazy. I still have a lot of work to do here in Waco to be finished moving out, but I hope to finish it in the next two days.
Alright, my brother is pulling up outside so it’s time to get on the road to Houston. See ya later, alligator!
