Blog 7: Week of 12/26/21

And now I’ve done it twice, but this is worse. Today is actually Wednesday that I am writing this, but this past week I was in Amarillo. I could’ve written it, but it was Christmas and I just didn’t think about it. Also, I drove all day yesterday so that’s why it took till today to write it. I’m going to just write about Christmas in general for this one.

I spent Christmas in Amarillo with my Mom’s side of the family. We did not have the West’s as they got Covid about one day before we were all supposed to head up there which is too bad, because they are some of my favorites on that side of the family. The best part of the trip however is my sister and her family came up for a couple days. She has baby Ivy May who is walking and trying to talk. Ivy has always been very shy towards everyone except her parents and cries easily when others try to interact with her. By the end of the trip she was starting to warm up to some of the family. This trip was also really good for my relationship with my grandparents. Usually they stress me out a lot because of my Nana’s constant worrying and my grandfather’s negative attitude, but this trip I got to have pretty good conversations with the both of them. On the first day there I gave my Nana and Mother the Hallmark Bingo game that I had been working on and they both loved it which felt nice. Each of them read through all the options and picked their own personal card that they would get to use.

We played a lot of games, well actually we played one game a lot; One Night Ultimate Werwolf. The first time we played it was easily the most fun, it was my family and the Parker family for most of the time which meant everyone was mature enough to understand the rules and play the game to a certain extent. The next two times we played it with the little kids which nearly ruined the experience as one of them accidentally or purposely cheated every round. Small things, but enough to where it took the thrill out of the game. I do plan on buying the game for when I move to New York for game nights. The other game we got to play was the Hallmark Bingo game which was a pretty good success. Other than that we watched a lot of Football. The browns lost, which was pretty lame. We have a chance of playoffs but not a good one.

As normal Christmas brought arguments and annoyances that aren’t healthy. I for one hate driving in the car for that long with family as tensions rise with every passing hour. I try my best to stay level headed, but it’s tough. There was good news over the break which is that I got offered the internship with MYEntertainment. I hope I still get the DIGA Studios one, not because I will accept it, but because I want to keep my streak alive. Up to now in my life every time I have ever interviewed for a position I have gotten it. I don’t want that to die yet. I also felt really good about that interview so I do not know what would go wrong with it. Who knows??

I got a couple things for Christmas but nothing really stands out. My sister got me a lawn chair and Carson got me a wallet: both of which I asked for. My mother got me cold weather clothes and socks which is perfect. Still though nothing sticks out. To be fair though, I have gotten a lot of help in the past month in general with plane tickets and my new computer. Pretty good December as far as I can tell.

Okay, I just got the second dose for the vaccine so I am going to relax and pack a bit today to be ready for the next couple weeks of Chaos. See ya!
