Blog 5: Week of 12/12/21
Alright, it’s 10:30 pm on Sunday, so this is about as late as I could do this. That’s kinda the theme of the week, last minute. It’s finals week and every single day was very very busy. Each day had its own task that had to be completed at that moment. I probably could have planned and prepared better but oh well, I have nearly completed it all. Monday I had my final essay for History of Radio and Television. It was the project where I had to interview someone older and talk about their history with media. I had interviewed Bob, my boss, and it was pretty fun to write the essay. I ended up getting a 300/300 on the paper. That same day I was told I would be giving the High School talk at Wednesday Night Live. I knew I would not be able to work on it Monday because of the paper though. Tuesday I spent most of the day editing the new footage of Spaced. I got it to a point where I was happy with the rough cut to turn in on Wednesday. I also figured out the general topic of what I wanted to talk about on Wednesday. Wednesday came along and I worked hard on preparing the talk, the talk back, and a powerpoint to go along with the talk. I also had a meeting with Mav to discuss the rough cut version of Spaced.
I then went up to the church to rehearse my talk before switching over to my final Skit. I think it was pretty funny. A group of hunters accidentally shoot Santa and have to cover up the murder Weekend at Bernies style when a young girl wants to see Santa. After the skit practice it was time for WNL to start and off we went. The skit went well and then I got to talk. The talk ended up being about 23 minutes and I was able to have it recorded. It went over pretty well and I am happy with it. I talked about Joy and how it is different than happiness. Happiness is based off of what is happening, it’s situational. Joy, on the other hand, is based on a grateful spirit rooted in Christ. The enemy of Joy is entitlement and shame. Whether you think you deserve more than you have, or you think you could never deserve what God has offered, both destroy joy. Once you understand Christ’s sacrifice for us, then we can be Joyful because we know the end goal; eternity with Christ.
Thursday I had to buy some new pants because I had a wedding to go to. Garrett and Lily had their wedding, which was a good chance to catch up with a lot of camp friends. It was pretty fun. On the drive I “watched” a lot of content relating to Waiting for Godot. I had to write my second essay of the week on Friday and I wrote it over what the moral was in Waiting for Godot. That was what I did all day Friday, as I had basically no work done on it. I had to do all the research, planning, writing, and reviewing. After I finished I watched a movie and went to bed. Saturday was when I started my next big assignment which was finishing my pilot of Dating Abroad. I was able to get another like 8 pages typed up meaning I only have another 13 to go. I am pretty happy with how it’s coming along. It might be worth while to keep this script going to see what can come of it.
And now it’s Sunday. Pretty good day overall. I woke up and watched the Browns vs Ravens game where we, Browns, barely won 24-22. It was a pretty stress free game until the last 3 minutes. After the game I scrambled around trying to find a DVD player that would play Circuit Breakers for movie night (but at 4:30). I finally got the player from my moms house and went to set up the movie at Andy’s house. When I got there I found out the DVD worked on his player so my efforts were worthless. But that meant I had time to edit a meme. We then watched the movie with a pretty good sized crowd and there were lots of laughs all around. The movie never ceases to amaze. I then left to go have our 7:37 Christmas Party. We had food, a Yankee Swap, Bingo, a football tournament, and burned a book! Classic Christmas party. I ended up with Butt Paste, a paste for butt rashes. But I did win $20 from bingo as well as I took all the gift bags to use later. I did not do great in football sadly which is sad. And now I’m here, finishing my blog on Sunday night. Tomorrow I have to take a final, finish my script, and practice guitar. Should be another busy day, but then it will all be over. I am finished with school in Waco in the next two days. Oh yeah, Friday I also had an interview with MY Entertainment. It went well and I guess we will see if my Interviewer thinks so too.
Alright, now I’m going to go to bed. Close. Very close.
