Blog 29: Week of 06/12/22

So it’s been a minute, huh. Well it’s nice to see you all again and truly I am sorry if you feel that you have been left out of my life the past month. And yeah, it has been a full month since I last uploaded a blog. I hope you haven’t forgotten that I exist.

I’ve been pretty busy and each Sunday has felt like a finale of a long week that I have just wanted to rest on. There’s been so much going on that I will just kind of point on the big things. First of all I have been working at First Woodway again. Bob finally caved and agreed to pay me, so that’s pretty dope! It’s nice to have a job that I love and get payed decently for it. This means that I am back to writing skits and helping around with what they need. In fact just before writing this, I wrote the skit for this next week. And immediately after writing this I will be heading off to TST, which is our summer Sunday night programming. Along with that this past week was our church’s VBS. I was in charge of the skits, so I wrote a three part story, kinda an Indiana Jones parody. We had all the incoming 7th graders and they were really cool. One of them was absolutely crazy, like breakdancing during worship kind of crazy. The rest were all sweet, mostly girls. But that week was soo long. Waking up at 7:30 to hang out with ~15 kids is never easy.

Other things I’ve done is go to the Rio to float on the river. It was the Hodges Family Reunion. Good time, got to spend a lot of time with Hardin, Ivy, and the cousins. Pretty fun time. I went up to camp the other week to see how they were doing, and I’ll be heading there tomorrow for their Angel Tree week. I feel like I did another travel thing, but I don’t remember now. Oh, I got some hermit crabs, well, my mom got some hermit crabs. She brought them in this tiny little cage so I convinced her to let us get them a cooler set-up. now they have a dope house that they can run around in. it has salt water, fresh water, a walking saucer, a cool climbing log, and a hammock that they can climb up to. I think it’s a pretty dope thing for them.

I started learning ASL, which has been a goal of mine forever and I’m finally doing it. I am not super good at it yet, but I’ll get there. I’ve also been working out, trying to work on myself for the first time in a long time. Working out, reading my Bible, and reading at night instead of being on my phone. I finished a book. That’s crazy. And I am nearly done reading through Genesis. I plan on studying Job over the next couple weeks. Also, yesterday I went on a walk yesterday, A five mile walk. Let me set the scene. Yesterday was 106 degrees outside. It was hellish. The walk I went on is called the CottonBelt Trail. It’s this old railroad turned into a walking path out in Lorena. Because it was a railroad, they had cleared out tons of trees around the path so there was 0 shade for the entire walk. That meant for an hour and a half I walked in the sun during a 106 degree day. When I was on my last 2 miles I thought I might die. The last mile was absurd, and then getting inside my car felt like death. I got home and tried to shower, but I felt ill. I chugged some water, but my body was just hot. Very hot and very tired.

I’m sure there’s plenty of other things I would’ve talked about if I had written weekly, but I just didn’t have it in me. I hope this suffices for now. I should Have a lot to say after this week so be on the lookout for weekly blogs to be back. Hopefully.

Alright! Bye bye!
