Blog 28: Week of 05/15/22

I Graduated. I did it. All those who doubted me, HA! It was odd that you doubted me, but still. So yes, this week I graduated from college, so now I’m at that point in life where the obvious next step is not available. For years it was just keep going to school, then it was go to college, then it was finish college, but now… now I have no more school to rely on. I am so stoked to not have that in my life though.

So for most of the week I did lots and lots of small tasks that needed to get done. I bought some new clothes, I cleaned my car, I updated my resume. Just lots of things, always busy. I did accomplish a lot, but I don’t remember all of what I did. On Monday night I had an event with my mother where we went to the new Main Event that opened during my absence. It was fun, we played arcade games, went bowling, ate pizza, and played laser tag. I have always hated laser tag. it’s truly one of my least favorite things to do in the entire world. I hate shooting at someone and them not dying, then they turn around and shoot you. Or you shoot someone and they just stare at you until their “time-out” is over and shoot you. Tuesday night I had Andy’s Engagement party. It was nice to see some old friends and be there for Andy and Morgan. Wednesday, Jamie called me at about 5:40 to ask if I could run the skit. Of course I said yes and got to go do the skit with Clayton, Jude, and Allie. Wednesday Night Live was fun and we went to George’s afterwards. The new interns are all really young and full of energy so the George’s trip was pretty unique as apposed to me being the main weird one. That night my freshman year friends decided we were all going to go to scruffs. I stood in line for about an hour with Katherine. There were other people who came and went in the line, but Katherine was my main stay. Finally we got in and had a couple of drinks. It was karaoke night, but the waiting list to sing was absurdly long. Not worth the wait really. I saw lots of old friends and plenty of Sigs, so it was an all around fun scruffs trip. Thursday night the Midway Baseball team had a home play-off game so I went and watched some of my guys “play.” Not really much play time for the sophomores. Afterwards I went over to the Warren’s house to watch Midnight Mass with Andy, a really good episode. I also was bitten by a dog, but thats just life.

Friday was the day of my graduation. I had a good ole time during graduation as the two guys I was sitting next to were super down too joke around the entire time. Good laughs, but it was kinda a competition of who could be the funniest. You can ask the girls in front of us who won. Bryce and Donovan joined us for the day after graduation and it was nice to catch up with them both and had some good laughs. We all went to Old Chicago which is where Hardin, Konrad, and Ivy May joined up with us. Ivy was on one on friday, having an absolute blast with some balloons and a fake spider. Ivy also hugged me, I was so shocked I didn’t know what to do. Handled it real well by just hugging her back. This is monumental as Ivy had only ever cried when looking at me. We played Telestrations and had a great round 2, but we were all really tired by round 3 so went to bed quickly after. Saturday Mother made blueberry muffins which was great. The kids then met dad at Cameron park to hike around for a while. I was so tired Saturday after the entire busy week, late night, and 2 hour hike so I went to bed. I woke up around 7:00 and played Madden with Carson. Sunday was church, lunch with dad, Madden, and then meeting up with my guys for a tailgate circle hangout. It was perfect weather for a hangout and the company was great.

I am not feeling great and I’m really tired, so I think it’s about time I go to bed. I have a busy week ahead of me so I think it’s time for me to head out. I just typed the same basic sentence twice in a row… so I think it’s time I go to bed. BYE BYE!
