Blog 17: Week of 03/05/22

Today is Saturday, but I don’t want to spend a lot of time tomorrow writing the blog, so I’m going to do the bulk of it today and perhaps I will finish it in the morning. Pretty good week, I think. I didn’t watch any movies though, which is pretty weird. Let’s dive in!

Monday was work, where I finished the projects I was supposed to work on all week on Monday. It just seemed like the tasks weren’t hard and I had a couple things that I was just waiting for other people on. We had class that night, and it was a pretty good class. We had some good discussions and some good laughs. Tuesday I spent the entire day trying to write a paper. Not going to lie, the worst paper I have EVER written. I did all the reading I was supposed to for it, but I could not formulate my thoughts into words. This week we moved our Wednesday class to Tuesday night, so Tuesday was pretty darn lame. Wednesday I had work. Really lame start to the week. I did finish my essay during work, finish my work with plenty of time, and came up with a show idea. That night a couple of us went to a bar for their Trivia night. This was really fun, and usually we can’t do it because we have class on Wednesday. We started out really good, just two points behind first place for the first like 6 rounds, finally the last three rounds we got like nothing right. Ended up getting last place. Miserable showing by PEC, that was our team name. Thursday was a pretty good day. I cleaned the entire apartment and did my laundry. Corina and I watched the first two episodes of Haunting of Hill House and then I went to Broadway to buy tickets for Phantom of the Opera for Carson and I. That night we had a writing workshop. Friday I had work. I got to pitch my show idea to the team and they thought it was pretty good so they invited me to a meeting with the talent that was attached to the show where I pitched the show to him. He like it a lot so we are running with it. This means that our company is now going to push forward with the development of this show. Now, we haven’t sold this show or anything, but we are moving our own resources into it which is pretty exciting for me. That night Andy and I went and met our friend Jack for dinner at this burger place. Better company than food. I then made an hour trek out to the JFK airport to meet Carson. We then road the subway all the way back which was another hour journey.

So now Carson is here! We’ve had some good fun already. Last night (Friday) I cried laughing while watching Carson eat a sandwich. He was really funny while eating it. This morning we went to the MoMA and looked at tons and tons of art. Afterwards we went to EAK Ramen which was lovely, some good ramen. Now I’m home writing this. We have more plans for the night, but I’ll write about them tomorrow and update the blog. Waiting for Carson to get back from seeing some friends. Talk soon!

Well, I didn’t update this on Sunday, but that’s okay! Here I am on Monday morning. So, Saturday we played games after watching the Baylor Basketball game, last regular season game. We played Catan and Pandemic. I did not win either of them so pretty lame game night. After game night we took an Uber to a local diner and had good conversation and food. Good way to end the night that diner is. Sunday was a long long day. We will coin it “family day.” we started with going to SoHo so we could eat with Anna. We had some pretty good Vietnamese food, I had pho for the first time. Then we got a short tour of SoHo and NoHo from Anna and then headed out to Hoboken to see the Rumph’s. We got to see Westin try out for his baseball team, which he absolutely killed. He’s a unit of an athlete. We then went to a couple parks and hung out outside for a good while, which was good because the weather was mid 60s and lovely. We finally walked back to their house before walking to dinner. We had Italian. Finally we started heading home. My watch claims I walked around for over 2 hours and multiple miles. We were all tuckered out by the end of the night so we went right to bed.

Okay, now you’re all caught up on the past week. Hopefully this next week has lots of stuff to talk and write about, but now I need to get back to work. Bye!
