Blog 3: Week of 11/28/2021
Week 3 of blogs and whatnot. I’m pretty tired today which is weird because the whole week was very restful. All I had to do was edit and spend time with family. I do not have a huge amount to talk about, but we’ll talk anyway. I’m also thinking that rather than a weekly “what is Peyton doing” blog it could be advice and topics blog. I haven’t decided. Then again it could just be whatever I want. For Monday and Tuesday I woke up and went to start the editing process for Spaced. I did not work hard or fast, just put time into the editing. On Monday I re-named all the footage and slapped a shots together to get an understanding of the time and flow of story. On Tuesday I cleaned up the edits and made an extreme rough cut with transitions and timing.
After I finished on Tuesday I was in quite a lot of pain from filming for 24 hours and editing the past two days. I decided to see if CBD actually worked for pain relief like they say it does. I went home and tried it and at first I didn’t think it as working so I doubled the dosage. Once it finally kicked in it was stronger than I expected it to be. I thought there were two options for what was going to happen; One, I thought it was a complete scam just like other gas station medications or at most a placebo. Secondly, I thought maybe it was just weed and they were just lying to get away with it. Back in high school I had about two years where I smoked a good amount. I stopped smoking the summer before my freshman year in college, so I know what weed feels like (good and bad). Well, the CBD definitely was not a scam or a placebo, but it also did not make me high. It was a weird middle ground, I was not as giggly nor did everything feel slower. I did however have that warm feeling that starts in the back of your head. The biggest thing was the muscle relaxing. I was watching a movie and I realized at some point I ended up with my back on the couch seat and my head was the only thing being held up by the seat back. My back pain was gone, I did not feel it at all. I was however extremely tired as a side effect.
On Wednesday I went and ate lunch with my father and then went back home to do laundry and wait on Thanksgiving plans. I really wish I went and edited Wednesday, but instead I did nothing. That night my dad, brother, and I went to Austin to spend time with the cousins. Thursday was thanksgiving which consisted of food, football, and poker. That seems like the perfect day. The thanksgiving food was great, and I actually enjoyed the turkey. I still fully believe that turkey is the worst food at Thanksgiving. It says a lot that majority of the other foods are specifically for making turkey taste better. The football was the Cowboys losing to the Raiders. Then in Poker I lost money, I had fun playing, but winning is always more fun.
Friday I spent the day with my mother and brother going shopping for clothes. I need warm clothing for New York and I was able to find 10 new articles of clothing that will serve me well. I truly do not know what to expect with how cold it will be, so I hope I am good. Then it was today, Saturday. I edited for a while, mainly syncing our good audio to our camera footage, which I forgot to do earlier. I probably wasted a ton of time with how I edited. I am now waiting at my house as I am expecting a package I have to sign for. I hope to go back up and do a bit more later tonight, but we will see what I end up doing. Tonight I will however watch the OSU and OU game tonight to see if Baylor can play in the Big-12 Championship. Tomorrow I am teaching Sunday School so I have to wake up pretty early. The Browns also don’t play until the night so I won’t be able to watch the game.
I think that’s about all so I will wrap it up. I say that, but there’s nothing really to wrap up. It’s been fun writing a weekly blog and I’m proud of myself for keeping it going so far. I’m excited to come back to this in the future.
