Blog 22 part 1: Week of 04/10/22
This is my first ever part one! Two reasons for this; I have a good amount to write about and I am about to have a very busy weekend that I don’t want to forget anything. So let’s jump right in to one of the busiest 3 day blogs EVER!
Monday morning I woke up super groggy, I tried to go to bed around 12:00, but instead could not sleep until 3:30. Which was lame. Every night of this week so far I have not been able to sleep well, SUPER LAME. So anyway, woke up groggy and got ready for work. I got on the train and headed into Manhattan around 8:30. I got to work and headed for my usual spot to sit in. Most times I get there before everyone else. Sometimes I have to wait for someone to unlock the building. So I got there and I was basically alone. I got to work and finished one of my projects. I was still alone after finishing. Usually at least one other person is there by 9:30, but now it was 10:00 and no one. I then remembered it was a Work-from-home day. I got on the train, annoyed, and rode home. I wasted an hour on the subway and woke up an hour earlier than I wanted to. So a good start to Monday. Later in the day Jack Saxon, a NY friend, invited me to see Seth Meyers on Tuesday. I said yes, and had a plan for Tuesday. I also had a coffee meeting planned for the morning, a meeting at noon, Seth Meyers 2:00-5:00 then class 7:00-11:00, so a very busy day. My coffee meeting canceled, but I kinda expected it as he flakes a lot. The meeting at noon was fine, just work stuff. And then off I went to Seth Meyers, at least if I could find my wallet. That wallet was so hard to find. I checked all over our apartment then went to our classroom to see if it was there. Finally I found it and sprinted to Seth Meyers. You wouldn’t believe where I found it, the LAST place I looked. Classic. Seth Meyers was fun, I was not able to get on camera. I blame the fact that he uses cue cards and they were directly in between our two faces blocking me from seeing him and him seeing me. Then for class we watched the Sound Of Metal and did this thing where we paused nearly every minute to discuss the technical side of what was going on. It was actually really fun, but it gave me PTSD about watching movies with my mom where she pauses all the time to do whatever. My favorite professor also got into town to visit so I stayed and talked with him for a little bit. Wednesday, today, I spent most of the day working from home, But I was able to get some of my final paper written. My plan is to be on page 5 by the time I leave Waco. After work I had class. During class I got an email telling me my flight to waco was cancelled. My flight was planned for 6:30 am, so it was cancelled about 10 hours before it was supposed to go. I have now spent the past 2 hours trying to figure out how I am going to get to Waco in time for my Thursday night activities. On Tuesday my dad told me we were going to stop by a friend of his funeral, so I took the angle that this flight cancelation is making me miss a funeral. Technically true, but morally wrong, but also really funny. Funeral isn’t funny, but the situation is. Trust me, it’s funny.
So yeah, now tomorrow at 10:00 I have a flight to Waco for Jacob and Jaclyn’s wedding. very excited to see everyone. So, there’s part one of blog 22, hope you enjoyed and just you wait for part 2, going to be crazy.
